MEET DRS. COVINGTON
Dr. Gina Covington was born in Duluth, Minnesota and at the age of six, she and her family moved to the small southwest Florida town of Port Charlotte. After High School, she moved slightly north to Gainesville, Florida where she completed her undergraduate degree in Microbiology at the University of Florida. She continued her studies at University Of Florida working towards a Ph.D. in Plant Molecular and Cellular biology for another two years. It was in Gainesville, where Dr. Gina met Dr. Mark Covington who was working as a CPA. Dr. Mark grew up in Miami Florida where he lived for the majority of his life with his older brother and mother. Dr. Mark’s mother worked as a pathologist and instilled into Dr. Mark the importance of education and the passion for learning. Dr. Mark received his Undergraduate Degree in Accounting from Florida State University.
A Husband and Wife Team Who Really Care
After a great deal of soul searching, both Dr. Gina and Dr. Mark decided to pursue a common goal together; hand and hand. Leaving Florida, this married couple moved to Jackson Mississippi where they enrolled together in the University of Mississippi Dental School. Here, the quest for excellence in dentistry and a firm appreciation for the importance of oral health transpired and blossomed.
The Covingtons enjoy serving their community. Both doctors, proudly have donated their time to aid with the dental bus at Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. These experiences were enriching and allowed the dental community to reach out to those individuals whom otherwise would not have access to care.
Dr. Mark and Dr. Gina Covington are committed to providing their patients with the highest level of care. Both doctors are members of the Academy of General Dentistry as well as the American Dental Association. Locally, both belong to the Western Piedmont Dental society and the Foothills Dental Continuum. Because dentistry is a dynamic field, continued education is a paramount concern. Both Dr. Mark and Dr. Gina have completed several hundred hours of continued education to become proficient in the science and placement of dental implants. This course of study has allowed them to become Fellows of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.
The Covingtons are the proud parents of two beautiful and vibrant little girls, Kayla and Elena. When they are not serving patients, they can always be found spending time with these two inspiring young ladies. They both enjoy anything that revolves around being outside and learning something new each day.
